It is only when you cherish every minute of your time that you begin to spend each one wisely. Each of us are given the exact same number of hours in a week and the majority of us have the free will to choose how we spend those hours. Yes many hours are already devoted to various activities, but I guarantee you have more time than you think - especially if you are currently unaware of how your time is spent.
Feeling flustered or overwhelmed by all that is on your plate? I encourage you to follow these steps:
- Honestly evaluate how each moment of your time is spent
- Ask God to help you appreciate and value your time
- Make an effort to re-structure how your "free-time" is spent
- Try replacing "I don't have time for XYZ," with "XYZ is not a priority in my life right now."If the latter sentence was very uncomfortable or embarrassing to say aloud, then you likely have some re-evaluating to do.
We all have more time than we think. Here are some great resources on time management: 168 Hours by Laura Vanderkam, Eat That Frog! by Brian Tracy, and Getting Things Done by David Allen.
